Our care includes a commitment to the environment.
Being green is important to our practice. This means delivering outstanding care to our patients in a way that always considers our environmental impact.
We have carried this philosophy over to every aspect of our practice, by:
Being a charter member of the Eco Dentistry Association, the nation’s first organization dedicated to “green” dentistry
Designing a state of the art dental suite that reduces waste and energy use by 50%
Using digital x-rays and “paperless charts” to reduce waste
Employing an amalgam filter to ensure that toxic materials don’t enter our community water supply
As part of our membership in the Eco-Dentistry Association, we have taken the following pledge:
We recognize that as dental professionals we make decisions every day which impact the public’s health, and the health of our Earth.
As such, we pledge to consider the environmental impact of our practices in:
1. Dental processes and materials
2. Office administration and marketing
3. Office construction, design and furnishings
By making choices in these three areas we agree to:
Rethink decisions and wherever possible to choose environmentally-sound options (e.g. using digital radiography, re-painting the office with non-toxic paints, installing an amalgam separator)
Reduce the environmental impact of our practice (e.g. lowering energy consumption by converting light fixtures to energy-efficient fluorescents, using cloth sterilization methods)
Reuse or re-purpose whatever we can (e.g. reusing lab boxes, buying washable lab coats
Recycle whatever we can (e.g. recycling office magazines, copy paper)
We further pledge to:
Demonstrate leadership by sharing “best practices” and innovations with other Eco-Dentistry Association Members
Educate our team and patients about environmentally-sound practices
Support suppliers who offer environmentally-sound products and services
